                   Meeting of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG5
 
                        May 2-7, 2004
 
     Emerald Suites, 9145 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, USA 
 
 
The next meeting of WG5 will be held at the Emerald Suites, 
9145 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, from May 2-7, 2004.  
The local organizer is Mallory North (North@Rose-Hulman.Edu).
 
 
1. OBJECTIVES OF THE MEETING
 
The major items of business for this meeting will be:
 
A. Responding to the National Body comments on the Final Committee Draft 
   of Fortran 2003 
 
   WG5 will consider the National Body comments (N1583) on the 
   Final Committee Draft of Fortran 2003 (N1578), decide what changes 
   should be made in the light of these comments, and write responses 
   to the National Bodies.
 
B. Constructing a Draft International Standard for Fortran 2003
 
C. Responding to the National Body comments on the PDTR for Enhanced 
   Module Facilities
 
   WG5 will consider the National Body comments (N1587) on the 
   Proposed Draft Technical Report for Enhanced Module Facilities,
   decide what changes should be made in the light of these comments, 
   and write responses to the National Bodies.
 
D. Constructing a Draft Technical Report for Enhanced Module Facilities
 
Other items of business will be: 
 
E. Consideration of the revision of parts 2 and 3 of the Fortran Standard
 
   WG5 will consider the revision of parts 2 and 3 of the Fortran Standard
so 
   that they correspond to Fortran 2003. 
 
F. Consideration of the revision of part 1 of the Fortran Standard
 
   WG5 will consider the framework of the further revision of part 1 of
   the Fortran Standard and establish a new Repository of Requirements 
   (see N1496).
 
G. Consideration of outstanding Fortran 95 interpretations (see N1505).
 
 
2. ORGANIZATION OF THE MEETING 
 
For the whole of Sunday and for part of Friday, this will be a normal
WG5 meeting.  For the rest of the time, the meeting will be a joint
meeting with J3. Much of the time will be spent in sub-groups of all
the delegates present. There will also be plenary sessions, either of
WG5 with John Reid in the chair or of J3 with Dan Nagle in the chair.
The exact timings will be agreed between John and Dan from day to day.
 
 
3. DOCUMENTS
 
It is essential that all delegates have access to the Fortran 2003 FCD
(N1578) and the Modules PDTR (N1580) at the meeting. Delegates should 
also bring N1496, N1505, N1548, N1549, and all documents from N1583 onwards.
 
 
4. LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS 
 
The local host will is Mallory North (North@Rose-Hulman.Edu),
who has prepared a separate document (N1586) with details of local 
arrangements. 
 
 
5. REGISTRATION
 
Heads of delegations are reminded that the names of those who will be
in their delegations should be communicated to both the Convener and
the host (Mallory North, North@Rose-Hulman.Edu) no later
than one month before the start of the meeting.
